About WAIS
Ever since our establishment in 1984, WAIS has a proud history of Olympic, Paralympic and World Champions who have accomplished amazing achievements within sport and in life. WAIS enables and supports W.A athletes to achieve success on a national and international level. Our culture of striving for excellence is lived through the behaviours of athletes and staff that demonstrate our values; Passion, Integrity, Quality and Teamwork.
WAIS is proudly supported by the W.A Government and is a member of the National Institute Network who collectively support National and State Sporting Organisations to deliver the National High Performance Sport Strategy.
WAIS’ sport programs include athletics, basketball, canoeing, cycling, diving, hockey, netball, rowing, sailing, swimming, and wheelchair basketball.
Athletes from sports outside of the dedicated WAIS programs are supported through the Individual Athlete Program. WAIS Individual Athlete Program (IAP) provides services and support to Western Australian high-performance athletes who are not scholarship holders with a WAIS operated sport program.
