WAIS is seeking an experienced sports physiotherapist to join our Performance Support team as a Performance Health Lead on a 0.8 FTE maximum term contract through to 31 December 2028.

In this role, you will lead physiotherapy practice across WAIS, driving high standards and supporting athletes to perform at their best while maintaining a strong focus on health and wellbeing.

Working closely with athletes, coaches and multidisciplinary support staff, you will deliver integrated, athlete centred care aligned with program goals and WAIS’s Win Well philosophy.

About the Role

As the Performance Health – Lead, you will oversee the physiotherapy discipline at WAIS – setting direction, supporting practitioners and ensuring consistent, high quality care across our programs.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and develop a team of physiotherapists, fostering a connected and high-performing discipline
  • Drive injury prevention, treatment and return-to-performance strategies across sports
  • Work closely with coaches and multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated athlete support
  • Use data and insights to inform decision-making and improve performance outcomes
  • Embed consistent standards, innovation and continuous improvement across physiotherapy practice
  • Provide hands-on physiotherapy support to athletes within assigned programs

About You

You are an experienced and accredited sports physiotherapist who brings strong technical expertise, leadership capability and a genuine care for people.

You’ll be well suited to this role if you:

  • Hold relevant physiotherapy qualifications with AHPRA registration
  • Have extensive experience in high-performance sport environments
  • Bring strong capability in injury prevention, rehabilitation and return-to-play
  • Have experience leading or mentoring others
  • Communicate effectively and build strong relationships across teams
  • Thrive in fast-paced environments and adapt to changing priorities
  • Take a balanced approach to performance and athlete wellbeing
